A total of 92 lawmakers have not published their CVs, although the regulations of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate require them to make their education, training and professional experience public, along with their asset and interest declarations. The situation persists nearly two years after the parliamentary elections.
Data presented by Digi24 journalist Rebeca Manea shows that AUR has the largest number of elected officials who fail to comply with this obligation. Of the group’s 92 members, more than a quarter have not published information about their professional background.
PSD and unaffiliated lawmakers hold the next positions, with 17 missing CVs each. In the United for Romania group, only two of the 16 elected members have made their CVs public. At PNL, ten lawmakers are non-compliant, while the SOS Romania group is missing eight CVs.
USR is the only parliamentary group in which all CVs have been published. Lawmakers without a public CV include Justice Minister Radu Marinescu, as well as liberal deputies Florin Roman and Sorin Cîmpeanu. The three have previously been mentioned in controversies involving allegations of plagiarism, which they denied.
Publishing CVs is part of the transparency obligations established for lawmakers, but the rules are not being followed uniformly by elected officials in the current legislature.
