About Trump and Romania's real and pragmatic interest

I am beginning to be utterly flabbergasted by the moralizers and ideologues from the Middle East who gleefully torpedo the only shield protecting Romania from Russia, Romania's biggest aggressor in the last 150 years, since the battles of Grivița and Plevna in 1877.
Russia really only fears America's projection of power. And in such a context, if it wants to be free, secure and prosperous, Romania has only one great national interest: to keep American troops on its soil for as many decades as possible by strengthening its strategic partnership with the US, regardless of who is in charge of America.
All the ideologically-tinted moralist wolves here who are now suddenly taking Europe in their arms and trashing the US for being led by Trump are not even useful idiots of Moscow. Blinded by their petty ideological-political passions, they are doing immense harm to this country, making it seriously vulnerable to Russia.
Europe won't be able to project real military power for another 5-10 years. And then I wonder, what would the pro-European moralists do if, for example, in 4 years, the German elections were won by an AfD ready to high five Russia. Or if the elections in France were to be won by an heir to Mrs. Le Pen ready for "normalization"? Would they then "morally" throw Europe in the bin? Or what would the same moralist wolves do if tomorrow, JD Vance said that, I don't know, Mr. Nicușor Dan is a good guy. Will the geopolitical moral compasses crack the way they cracked when all the famous and expert flower of the mioritic intelligentsia suddenly became ecstatic at the photo of Donlad Trump and Ilie Bolojan? (by the way, he is probably the best president of Romania in the last 15 years).
I can digest the confusions of the moment, I can accept that there are nuances, but I cannot for the life of me understand how intellectuals, pundits, otherwise serious analysts cannot get past their personal humor and see a simple reality. The only moral for Romania in these times and with this geography is that of pragmatic interest in remaining a free and safe country, a guarantee of prosperity and dignity.
The bottom line is that 75% of Romanians are wiser than most pundits with intellectual ifose. 75% of Romanians think that it is very important for Romania to have a close relationship with the Trump administration that is now running the US.
Donald Trump won the US election by a landslide. His supporters in the US Congress won legislative elections in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. If the vast majority of American taxpayers who pay the American soldiers defending Romania's freedom at Deveselu, Kogălniceanu and Câmpia Turzii have decided that Donald Trump is good for them, what business do we have to judge their choices?
Our deeply pro-European national interest is that the country is safe. For our own sake and for Europe's sake because we are a border state of the European Union. And Romania can only be secure with American soldiers on our soil for the long term as a deterrent. If we need to do some extra business with the Americans for that, then let's do it. If America asks us for something because it is important to them, then let us give them a positive answer. Because America is also giving us its soldiers and weapons to defend us against the aggressor Russia.
If we are a smart state, and in the last few weeks, behind the scenes especially, we have really started to be, thank God, utilizing all our assets with Romanian citizenship no matter where they live, then let's be smart all the way! Let's use every opportunity, every tool, every occasion, every visit of any close to Donald Trump who will lead America in the next 4 years, to project the pragmatic interests of the country, without passing electoral passions and without personal moods that risk burying our freedom, security and prosperity.
Beyond the "sages of the nation", I believe enormously in the wisdom of the Romanian people, reflected in the photo above.
