The fact that the PSD has not managed in the last year and something to bring candidates to important elections, not even in second place, is a fact that should seriously make the leadership of this party think.

Voting took place on Sunday, for a new general mayor of the Capital, under a gloomy sky from which a cold rain was almost continuously falling, inviting to the comforts of home. It was the contribution of the weather – I believe notably – to the small number of voters who voted. Therefore, the most motivated voted, and they comfortably brought Ciprian Ciucu, the mayor of sector 6, to victory. It was a victory of better administration, of an open communication style, but also of a relative recovery in "sapping" the competition from the same slice of the electorate. This is what Mr. Cătălin Drulă did not achieve – unfortunately for him, but also for USR – as he only managed to come in fourth place. It was also a defeat for AUR, which seemed well positioned to obtain the first mayoral seat of a European capital. Another round is coming.

The good news is that Ciucu's victory strengthens Ilie Bolojan's position. Against the PSD, which did not bring its candidate to Bucharest except in third place, after Anca Alexandrescu, supported by AUR, who managed a second place. In the second row, against President Nicușor Dan, whose support from the Prime Minister has been unconvincing all these months, without necessarily obstructing him, but also without putting his credit at stake. It is to be hoped that there will now be cooperation between the General Mayor’s Office and the Government, which will bring more progress in the coming years in the administration and especially in the development of the Capital together with that of Ilfov County. Beyond the administration of Bucharest, we need Bolojan's competence and honesty to continue, even if tax and fee increases do not make any of us happy, whether from Bucharest or the rest of the country. Last but not least, I admit that I am glad that Grindeanu's aggressive and demagogic verbosity has received a jolt. The fact that the PSD has not managed in the last year and something to bring candidates to important elections, not even in second place, is a fact that should seriously make the leadership of this party think, which continues to present itself and believe it is the king-party of Romania.

Radoslaw Sikorski's great reply, Poland's Foreign Minister, to Elon Musk. Infuriated by the EU, which heavily fined him for violations regarding user rights on the X network, this techno-fascist, a leading member of the abject cabal of a president unworthy of the true greatness of the United States of America, willing to make Bruderschaft with Putin and, in fact, with anyone who brings him money and flattery, had the audacity to call for "the eradication of the European Union" – that is, of a free association of free countries, which have expressed their support for this association by virtue of an imprescriptible right of nations. To which Sikorski (alluding to the billionaire's limitless ambitions and a deplorable event from his Trump campaign) sent him "to Mars, to do the Nazi salute there, where no one will censor him." Of course, among Martians, Musk might not have another chance to carve out the administration of a large country – as he did with his DOGE – a carving that even his patron, Trump, got tired of at some point. But we will not weep for him.
