<p>The US Department of Homeland Security has decided to cancel Romania's inclusion in the Visa Waiver Program, which would have allowed Romanians to travel visa-free to the US. The decision, effective immediately, is motivated by the need to protect the integrity of the program and national security. Romania may be reconsidered in the future if it meets the necessary criteria. The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regretted the decision and emphasized that Romania has fulfilled all legal requirements. The Romanian government will continue its dialog with the US to clarify the reasons for the cancellation.
