The High Court has definitively decided to exclude several pieces of evidence obtained from DNA with the support of the SRI under national security mandates in the Tel Drum case of Liviu Dragnea. The former PSD leader, sent to trial alongside the company Tel Drum and other individuals for forming an organized criminal group, abuse of office, and fraud with European funds, is accused of causing damages of nearly 20 million euros to the state budget and the European Union. The court's decision leaves the case, which has been in preliminary proceedings since 2022, without a significant part of the evidence collected by prosecutors.
