A luxury yacht, Angiola II, measuring 30 meters and valued at over 8 million euros, sank near Porto Cervo, Sardinia, just a few days after being delivered to its new owner. The incident occurred due to a malfunction in the engine, which caused a fire to break out. Although the fire was controlled, the yacht began to take on water and sank, reaching a depth of seven meters. There were 14 people on board, including crew members and guests, all of whom were rescued without injuries.
The Coast Guard intervened to secure the area, placing floating barriers to prevent pollution. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, and the yacht will remain under surveillance until recovery. Angiola II, built by Permare, can accommodate up to ten passengers and is equipped with four powerful engines. This is not the first incident of this kind in the area, as another yacht recently experienced a fire.
