Romania has the shortest average working life in the EU, at 32.7 years, compared to the EU average of 37.2 years.

According to Eurostat data, the average working life in the European Union will reach 37.2 years in 2024, but Romania is in last place with only 32.7 years. The longest are in countries such as the Netherlands (43.8 years) and Sweden (43 years), while the average for men in Romania is 35.9 years and 29.2 years for women. This highlights the significant disparities in the European labor market.
