Romanians and Bulgarians have the lowest life expectancy in the European Union

According to Eurostat data, Romania is in 2024 in the second-to-last position in the ranking regarding life expectancy, with 76.6 years, after Bulgaria, which has 75.9 years. Compared to 2019, Romania has recorded an increase of one year, a trend also observed in other countries, such as the Czech Republic and Latvia. In contrast, the Netherlands is the only country in the EU where life expectancy has recorded a decline.
