Romania recorded the strongest economic growth in the EU, with a 1.2% advance in the second quarter of 2025, according to Eurostat.

In the second quarter of 2025, Romania had the highest economic growth in the European Union at 1.2%, outpacing other countries such as Poland and Spain. In contrast, the euro area economy grew by just 0.1%. Compared with the previous year, Romania's GDP grew by 2.1%. The employment rate also increased by 0.1% in the EU and the number of people in work continued to rise. This economic performance highlights a positive trend in the regional context.
