Romania recorded a 1.2% increase in services output in June, while the EU and euro area reported declines

According to data published by Eurostat, Romania recorded a 1.2% increase in services output in June compared with May, contrary to the trend recorded in the European Union and the euro area. During the same period, services output fell by 0.2% across the EU and by 0.3% in the euro area. Romania’s growth follows a 0.7% decline recorded in May. The country was among the member states with the largest monthly increases, surpassed by Luxembourg, Portugal, Lithuania and Greece. Estonia also recorded a 1.2% increase.

The most significant declines were reported in Latvia, Germany and Bulgaria. By sector, information and communication services, as well as accommodation and food service activities, increased. In contrast, real estate, professional, scientific and technical activities declined, while output in transportation and storage stagnated. Compared with June 2025, services output increased by 1.5% in both the EU and the euro area. In Romania, the annual increase was 1.2%.
