The hourly labor cost in Romania has risen to 12.5 euros, but it remains among the lowest in the region.

In the second quarter of 2025, employers in Romania paid an average of 12.5 euros for each hour worked, one of the lowest values in the region, above Serbia and Bulgaria. Costs have increased by over 10% compared to last year, with the largest increases being in energy and finance, while tourism and culture recorded declines.
