Former Finance Minister Adrian Câciu (PSD) criticized Marcel Boloș, emphasizing that he exceeded the proposed budget deficit in just one month. Câciu claims that Boloș lied about the state of the deficit and accused Prime Minister Ciolacu of not taking his warnings seriously. He presented official data showing an increase in the deficit from 7.9% to 8.65%. Boloș, for his part, stated that he informed the Prime Minister about the situation of the deficit but was ignored.
