A upper stage of the SpaceX rocket, launched in January 2025, is on a collision course with the Moon, according to astronomer Bill Gray and NASA. The impact is expected on August 5. Although collisions with the Moon occur frequently, NASA believes that observing this event from Earth will be extremely difficult. The stage weighs approximately four tons and is moving at a speed of over two kilometers per second. Bill Gray, responsible for space monitoring, estimated the impact, noting that it poses no danger. Space debris is becoming an increasingly common problem, and a similar incident occurred four years ago. Although impacts on the Moon are often planned for research, this is not such a case, and SpaceX has not yet commented on the situation.
