The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the American President Donald Trump had a meeting of approximately three hours at Mar-A-Lago, discussing the progress and obstacles in the way of a peace agreement for Ukraine. Trump stated that an agreement is "almost" achievable, mentioning that 95% of the terms are agreed upon, while Zelensky maintained a percentage of 90%. Unresolved issues include the fate of the Donbas region, which Russia demands from Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine will respect its territory and that its position regarding Donbas is clear. Trump also mentioned that Russia is cooperating regarding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, another point of dispute. Both parties agreed to continue negotiations, with meetings planned for 2026. Although progress has been significant, both leaders acknowledged that the peace process will be complex and lengthy.
