Volodimir Zelensky said Russia is dragging China into its conflict with Ukraine after Chinese soldiers fighting on the Russian side were captured. He said the Chinese authorities were aware of the recruitment of their citizens, saying Ukrainian services had identified at least 155 Chinese nationals involved in the war. Beijing dismissed the allegations as unfounded and said it would verify the information with Ukraine, stressing that the Chinese government advises citizens to avoid conflict zones.
