A tragic incident occurred on Mount Kom in western Bulgaria, where a young man died after being struck by lightning during a severe storm. The Bulgarian Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) confirmed that, following the incident, another young man was seriously injured but managed to descend from the mountain to a cabin, where he received medical care.

Subsequently, he was transported to the hospital for treatment. The rescue mission was supported by a medical helicopter, given the severity of the situation. It appears that the storm developed rapidly, catching both victims off guard during their mountain activities.
