An Australian judge imposed a fine of 650,000 Australian dollars on X Corp, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, for failing to provide information to an online safety regulatory body, eSafety, regarding the fight against child sexual exploitation.

The legal process lasted for three years, and the company was ordered to pay a fine of 650,000 Australian dollars. In addition, X will also have to bear 100,000 Australian dollars representing legal costs, which must be paid within 45 days.

Although X Corp admitted its guilt, it mentioned that the non-compliance occurred in the context of significant organizational changes. The judge emphasized that the fine must be close to the maximum amount provided by law to have a real deterrent effect. The court had previously confirmed that X Corp was required to respond to transparency notifications.
