The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, declared on Saturday that he will continue the offensive against 'pseudo-organizations', journalists, and politicians whom he considers 'mercenaries', in an attempt to win the parliamentary elections in April.

Viktor Orban, the leader of the FIDESZ party, is facing a major challenge, considering that his party is trailing in opinion polls behind the TISZA opposition. In his annual state of the nation address, he promised to eliminate foreign influence from Hungary and accused the opposition, led by Peter Magyar, of having ties to Brussels and intentions to enrich Hungarian families. Magyar, on the other hand, promised to combat corruption and work for the good of all Hungarians. Orban is accused of restricting freedoms and the rights of minorities in an attempt to build an 'illiberal state'.
