On Sunday, Venezuela reacted vehemently to the military exercises conducted by the USA and Trinidad and Tobago, accusing them of military provocations aimed at generating a total confrontation. The Venezuelan government stated that it captured a group of mercenaries who allegedly acted with information from the CIA, intending to launch an attack under false flag in the region. Vice President Delcy Rodriguez declared that such an attack is underway in the waters around Trinidad and Tobago. Although the statement did not provide evidence, Venezuela has previously accused the USA of similar plans, including a recent incident related to the American embassy in Caracas. In this context, President Trump confirmed the CIA's authorization for covert operations in Venezuela, and the Pentagon has increased military presence in the Caribbean, deploying the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford.
