A strong vegetation fire broke out on Monday morning near the city of Los Angeles, threatening homes and infrastructure in Simi Valley.

The fire started around 10:50 AM local time, about 60 kilometers northwest of Los Angeles, and is spreading rapidly, causing panic in residential neighborhoods. The California Fire Department has mobilized approximately 200 firefighters, supported by three tanker planes and six helicopters, to contain the fire. Authorities have issued evacuation orders for four areas in Simi Valley, where over 100,000 people live, and response teams are warning the neighborhood population door to door.

Residents of Thousand Oaks have also received evacuation warnings, considering the rapid changes in wind direction. So far, no casualties or major damage have been reported, but firefighters emphasize that the situation remains extremely dangerous due to high temperatures and dry conditions.
