US Vice President J.D. Vance derided Europe's ability to keep the peace in Ukraine, suggesting that an economic agreement with the US would be more effective.

In an interview with conservative Fox News, J.D. Vance said that the only guarantee of a lasting peace for Ukraine would be to give 'an economic advantage to the United States', causing a stir in France and the UK. Vance also later reacted, saying that his remark was not aimed at the UK or France, which fought alongside the US.
