European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has warned that the 30% tariffs announced by Donald Trump would disrupt essential supply chains between the US and the EU. She stressed that the EU bloc is ready to adopt proportionate countermeasures to protect its interests. Von der Leyen also reaffirmed the EU's commitment to a negotiated deal with the US, saying that dialogue and fair trade are priorities. Negotiations for a trade deal continue, despite tariff threats.
