The European Commission has decided to suspend for six months tariff countermeasures prepared against the United States, which would have taken effect on August 7, following trade negotiations with US President Donald Trump. The preliminary deal agreed provides for 15% tariffs on most European products imported into the US, with no tariffs on US imports except steel and aluminum. The EU commits to buy $750 billion worth of US energy products over the next three years.
