United Airlines recently updated its policy, allowing the company to refuse transportation to passengers who play audio or video content without headphones. This change was included in the transportation contract on February 27 and may lead to permanent bans for those who do not comply with the rule. United explained that this clarification was necessary with the expansion of the Starlink Wi-Fi service.
Passengers agree to these rules when purchasing tickets, and the company reserves the right to remove passengers from aircraft for the safety of all. Other prohibited behaviors include wearing indecent clothing and making phone calls at inappropriate times. In the event that travelers forget their headphones, they can request some for free, if available.
