The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) has announced that it will repeat the admission exam for recently admitted students, after the online session had an unusually high success rate.

Rector Eduardo Lomeli stated that all admitted candidates will be summoned for a 'control exam' with physical presence, to ensure equitable access. The scandal led to the resignation of the university's secretary general, Patricia Davila. The exam was monitored through video cameras and artificial intelligence, but exceptional performances were noted, especially in the Faculty of Medicine, where the percentage of candidates with 100 correct answers increased significantly.

The investigation revealed possible cases of cheating, including the use of AI and identity theft. The re-examination will also include candidates who were not selected due to these irregularities, highlighting the university's commitment to protecting the integrity of the admission process.
