Air raid alerts sounded over Kyiv shortly after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a ceasefire in Ukraine during Orthodox Easter.

Elhan Nuriiev, from the Union of Ukrainian Artisans, stated that the air raid sirens were heard at the moment of the announcement, emphasizing that the Kremlin's gesture is not an authentic one. Nuriiev characterized Putin's initiative as a PR maneuver, mentioning that Moscow wants to present itself on the same level as Washington. Orthodox Easter remains a time of deep tradition, but in the fifth year of war, the rituals are overshadowed by the uncertainty of the conflict.
