The cyber-attack, carried out on July 17 by GUR specialists, targeted Gazprom's systems, affecting almost 390 branches. GUR sources said the attack led to the destruction of large volumes of data, including critical records on contracts and energy resource management. Access to internal systems was blocked for 20,000 administrators and servers were severely damaged, rendering them unusable. Hackers managed to download hundreds of terabytes of data before wiping it.
