The authorities installed by Russia in southern Ukraine announced that over 200,000 households have been left without electricity following an attack by the Ukrainian army on energy infrastructure in the Zaporozhye region. Evgeny Balitsky, the governor of the occupied areas, reported that 213,000 subscribers and 386 localities are affected. Additionally, Vladimir Saldo, the governor of the Kherson region, mentioned the bombing of an electrical substation, which left 14 cities and 450 villages without electricity, but power was restored later. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared a state of emergency in the energy sector, ordering an increase in electricity imports. Furthermore, Ukrainian air forces shot down 167 of the 201 drones launched by Russia, while the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the downing of 63 Ukrainian drones, causing injuries among the population.
