Ukrainian forces attacked a Su-57 fighter jet and a Su-34 bomber at the Shagol airfield in Chelyabinsk, Russia, according to the General Staff. This attack is part of an escalation of Ukrainian operations against Russian military infrastructure, which has prompted the Kremlin to redeploy air forces further from the border with Ukraine. Ukrainian drones have demonstrated the ability to fly over 2,000 kilometers, threatening aircraft deep within Russian territory. The assessment of the damage suffered by the attacked aircraft is ongoing, and the aircraft were located about 1,700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Although Kyiv Independent could not verify this information, the attack underscores Ukraine's continued success in using drones against Russian aviation. In the past, Ukraine has carried out significant attacks, including a massive strike on June 1, which damaged 41 Russian aircraft.
