Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Ukrainian army has destroyed a Russian strategic bomber.

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the destruction of a Russian strategic bomber Tu-95 at the Engels airbase, located about 800 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. The operation was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) using long-range drones. Zelensky emphasized the precision of Ukrainian fighters and the impact of this action on Russia's attack capabilities.

The aircraft, which was frequently used to launch missiles against Ukraine, suffered critical damage and was destroyed as a result of the attack. The SBU stated that the elimination of each strategic bomber reduces the number of missiles that can be launched against Ukrainian cities, saving lives and causing significant losses to the enemy. The Tu-95, an aircraft with a long history, has been adapted for bombing missions and can carry up to 16 cruise missiles.
