The recent trade agreement between the UK and the United States allows British cars to benefit from a preferential tariff of 10% on the first 100,000 vehicles exported annually, in contrast to higher tariffs applied to other trading partners. While the deal is a relief for the British car industry, uncertainty remains over steel and aluminum taxes, with negotiations under way to reduce them to zero. The British Prime Minister hailed the agreement as 'historic', stressing the importance of protecting jobs.
