In 2025, trade between Romania and the United Kingdom reached a value of £10.3 billion, marking a 4.9% increase compared to the previous year, according to the Romanian-British Chamber of Commerce (BRCC). British exports to Romania grew by 7%, reaching £3 billion, while imports from Romania increased by 4%, totaling £7.3 billion. Romania ranks 32nd in the UK's trading partner rankings, with the automotive industry as the main driver of Romanian exports. Cars accounted for 30.4% of total British imports from Romania, with an 18.4% increase compared to the previous year. Services significantly contributed to the trade relationship, with British service exports to Romania increasing by 16.1%. However, British foreign direct investment in Romania decreased by 19.9%, in contrast to the 22.2% increase in Romanian investments in the United Kingdom. These figures suggest a potential for expanding economic relations, especially in sectors such as the automotive industry and technology.
