A Turkish Airlines plane, flight TK1853, made an emergency landing at El Prat airport in Barcelona on Thursday due to a bomb threat received on board. The aircraft, which had taken off from Istanbul, landed at 10:57 local time, with a delay of nearly 30 minutes. The passengers, numbering 148, disembarked on their own and were taken to a safe area, according to Civil Protection.

The Civil Guard and the autonomous police of Catalonia (Mossos Esquadra) activated the Aerocat emergency plan to manage the situation, and the airport continued to operate normally. The threat was received around 10:00, and the aircraft circled for nearly 20 minutes before landing, being accompanied by five fire crews mobilized as a precaution. Authorities are collaborating to inspect the plane and ensure the safety of the passengers.
