Donald Trump's war against Iran has generated a severe financial crisis in the U.S. Navy, according to documents reviewed by The Guardian.

Military operations have depleted ammunition stocks and led to retaliatory Iranian attacks that have destroyed strategic bases in the Middle East, putting pressure on military budgets.

A Pentagon memo warns of a deficit in payroll accounts, and Navy officials confirm that non-urgent maintenance has been postponed due to the cash crisis. Although the White House has requested emergency funding, the prospects for approval are slim due to the unpopularity of the war.

The Navy's budget for 2026, nearly $300 billion, is affected by restrictions in the redistribution of funds. Experts emphasize that the Navy is facing critical deficits, and the war in Iran has already cost $35.7 billion. Without a clear authorization from Congress, the future of funding remains uncertain, and the Navy is in a precarious financial situation.
