American President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday evening that he agrees to suspend bombings against Iran for two weeks, offering a mutual ceasefire, provided that Tehran fully reopens the Strait of Hormuz. This decision was communicated on his social network, Truth Social, and came shortly before the self-imposed deadline. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Iran will accept a ceasefire if attacks against it are halted, thus allowing safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran presented a 10-point plan for a ceasefire, which includes ending the war against Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and lifting sanctions. Negotiations for the details of the agreement will take place in Islamabad, and the Pakistani Prime Minister announced that all parties have agreed to an immediate ceasefire. Israel, on the other hand, expresses concern about this temporary agreement, stating that it will respect the ceasefire but remains wary regarding its military objectives in Iran.
