President Donald Trump had a meeting with the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, María Corina Machado, who presented him with the Nobel Peace Prize, thus acknowledging his work. Trump expressed on the Truth Social platform that it was a great honor to meet Machado and appreciated the gesture as a sign of mutual respect. The medal was left at the White House and is now in the possession of the president. Although Trump has long desired this award, the Nobel committee clarified that the title of laureate cannot be transferred or assigned, although the medal can change ownership. This situation highlights the complexity of the Nobel prizes and international recognition.
