The President of the USA, Donald Trump, responded to the challenges posed by Vladimir Putin, who questioned the effectiveness of the new sanctions imposed by the Trump Administration on Russia. These sanctions target major Russian oil companies and strategic liquefied natural gas projects, aiming to cripple Russia's ability to finance its military actions.

Despite Putin's defiant reaction, stating that the sanctions will not significantly affect the Russian economy, Trump promised to assess their impact in six months. Although the short-term financial effects may be limited, the sanctions signal the firm intention of the USA to increase pressure on the Kremlin to reach a peace agreement. While Republicans support an escalation of the sanctions, Democrats criticize the effectiveness of their enforcement.
