Trump tried to dismiss Cook based on allegations of fraud, which she denies, intending to sue the president. The attorney general argued that Cook made contradictory statements in mortgage contracts, which would justify her dismissal. The judges initially blocked the dismissal, allowing Cook to remain in office. If Trump succeeds in removing her, he will appoint four of the seven governors of the Fed.
