Donald Trump has said he is confident the United States will annex Greenland, despite opposition from Greenlandic parties.

Although unrelated to the conflict in Ukraine, Trump has expressed confidence that the US will annex Greenland. His statements come as Greenland's Demokraatit Party, which advocates a gradual approach to independence, won the parliamentary elections. Even parties that advocate a radical break from Denmark do not support joining the US, and Trump's comments are not well received in Denmark.
