Although unrelated to the conflict in Ukraine, Trump has expressed confidence that the US will annex Greenland. His statements come as Greenland's Demokraatit Party, which advocates a gradual approach to independence, won the parliamentary elections. Even parties that advocate a radical break from Denmark do not support joining the US, and Trump's comments are not well received in Denmark.
