The State Department has initiated actions to restrict their visas, including former European Commissioner Thierry Breton and Imran Ahmed, the director of the organization Centre for Countering Digital Hate. They are accused of actions that, although legal in their countries, censorship is not acceptable in the USA. Breton has called on social media platforms to combat disinformation, while CCDH has advocated for the removal of officials from the Trump administration from these platforms. Trump and the State Department emphasize that they will not tolerate foreign censorship that affects the freedom of expression of Americans. The list of five is not exhaustive and may be expanded based on the behavior of other foreign actors.
