In a letter sent Thursday, Trump said the US will impose a 35% tariff on Canada starting next month. Canada is the US's second-largest trading partner after Mexico and the biggest buyer of US exports. According to the Financial Times, a US government official said tariffs on Canada would "likely" be lifted on goods that met the terms of Trump's 2020 trade deal with Canada and Mexico.
