The American president Donald Trump announced on the Truth Social network that he had productive discussions with the president of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, and the prime minister of Israel, Netanyahu. The two leaders agreed on a 10-day ceasefire, starting at 5:00 PM EST, as part of efforts to achieve peace between the two countries.
Trump emphasized that the meeting between Israel and Lebanon, which took place for the first time in 34 years in Washington, D.C., was an important step. He mentioned that Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Dan Razin’s Caine, will collaborate to ensure a lasting peace agreement. This initiative comes in the context of a recent escalation of the conflict, with the Israeli army preparing for a ceasefire after six weeks of war with Hezbollah. Trump expressed his optimism, mentioning that this will be the tenth conflict he will help resolve.
