In a 90-minute meeting at the White House, Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu discussed efforts to free hostages in the Gaza Strip and a strategy to eliminate Hamas' capabilities. Netanyahu emphasized the need for a ceasefire, while Trump expressed his belief that Hamas would also want such an agreement. Delegates from Qatar have participated in talks to mediate between Israel and Hamas, but progress has been limited. The US administration is hoping for a 60-day truce.
