Vibrio bacteria, now also found on the Turkish coast, thrive in warm, salty waters and have the potential to cause serious infections including cholera and necrotizing fasciitis. Experts advise tourists not to enter the water if they have open sores and to be cautious with seafood. Infection risks are also increased in swimming pools, especially for children. Doctors stress the importance of monitoring symptoms and personal hygiene.
