The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) has issued a warning for consumers who purchase food products from unauthorized individuals on social media. These foods may be contaminated with bacteria such as Salmonella or Listeria, causing serious foodborne illnesses. ANSVSA emphasizes that the sale of food products by unregistered individuals is illegal and recommends that consumers buy only from authorized sanitary-veterinary units.
Additionally, ANSVSA provides advice for online purchases, including checking the merchants' information, transport conditions, and the integrity of products upon delivery.
