A transgender woman from England has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for sexual assault, after she deceived a man about her biological sex.

Ciara Watkin, 21 years old, was found guilty of sexual assault after engaging in sexual relations with a man without revealing that she was born a man. The victim stated that he would not have accepted the meeting if he had known the truth, and the case raises issues of informed consent. The judge described Watkin as lacking remorse, and the man stated that he feels ashamed and embarrassed because of her actions.
