A Russian air defense operator accidentally opened fire, killing two Russian paratroopers in the Rostov region.

During a skydiving exercise at the Kuzminski military paratrooper at the Kuzminski military range, an operator thought the paratroopers were Ukrainians and that he was dealing with a real live paratrooper, so he opened fire on them. The two servicemen died during the parachuting. An investigation was opened by the Russian military authorities.
