Toyota has announced that it will produce its first fully electric model in Europe at the factory in Kolín, Czech Republic, and will invest 680 million euros to expand it, including a new battery assembly unit. The Czech government will contribute up to 64 million euros. The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic emphasized the importance of this decision for the automotive industry, which represents 10% of the country's GDP. Toyota, which has taken a more cautious approach to electrification, will launch new electric models in Europe by 2026.
