In Tokyo, Toyota presented the first electric prototype of the Corolla model, which brings a completely new design and a series of technical innovations. Corolla, one of the best-selling cars in the world, was launched in 1966 and gained popularity due to its reliability. The new Corolla concept proposes a versatile platform that integrates hybrid, combustion, and electric drivetrains. CEO Koji Sato emphasized the importance of creating attractive vehicles, regardless of the energy source. The electric prototype stands out with improved aerodynamics, a more spacious interior, and modern gadgets, such as a screen for the front passenger. The engines have been reduced to 1.5 liters, and a turbo version of 2.0 liters will be available for those who want more power. Toyota has sold 55.46 million Corolla cars in 60 years, with 1.66 million units sold last year, China being the largest market.
