Tom Rothman, the president of Sony Pictures, condemned the racist video posted by Donald Trump, featuring Barack and Michelle Obama, calling it "despicable" during the African American Film Critics Association awards ceremony.

Tom Rothman emphasized that such regressive videos are unacceptable, especially from a global leader. In his speech, he highlighted Sony's commitment to promoting Black cinema, mentioning significant films produced by the studio. Rothman also acknowledged the diversity of his team, stressing that the award belongs to all those who contribute to these stories.

The video generated outrage across society, and Trump later deleted the post, blaming his staff. The White House press secretary defended the video, stating that it is a meme inspired by Disney movies.
